Data Flow Through OP
The “Data shelter” section within the application provides visibility of and control over the necessary master data needed to plan.
Sources of Data
- Static data, or master data: data usually sourced from an ERP system. Includes the core business dimensions in Outperform Planning (e.g., Products, Customers, Warehouses, Bills of Materials, Resources, etc.) and the relationships between these dimensions.
- Homeless data: data that is required for Outperform Planning but cannot be sourced from an ERP or other existing enterprise systems.
- Transactional data: data that can change at any moment, as time progresses. Examples of this type of data are sales orders, inventory levels, purchase orders, production orders, and transport orders.
Data inspection and maintenance reports
The Data shelter contains reports in the following categories:
- Reports to activate and deactivate specific dimensions, such as products, customers, warehouses, resources, and BOMs
- Reports to inspect these dimensions and edit attributes of these dimensions, if those attributes are not dictated by an ERP system
- Reports to inspect and maintain planning parameters such as supply calendars, changeover matrices, inventory targets, etc.
